At work today we did an exercise where we picked a piece of paper from a cup that had the name of an animal and an age on it.

We then had about an hour to illustrate it.

I picked a shark and 8-14 yrs.

This is how it turned out.

Marching Band Snake

This was an assignment from a class last semester.

I liked the idea of an animal with no fingers playing a flute, because that would be really hard.

Originally it was an oboe (because I played the oboe for 5 year. I know, band geek), 

but then I realized that there actually aren't any oboes in marching band (we were still expected to play for pep band, though). 

Luckily, there are plenty of flutes in marching band.

Yay!

Sleep

Sorry for the lack of updates lately. It's that season so I've been 1. dealing with midterms and 2. dealing with a sinus infection. ewww. 

So because I was feeling so under the weather I went to see my good ol' doctor. 

He said one of the reasons I was sick was because my sleeping habits were so crappy (exact words... not really) and that I needed more sleep.

So I thought, "Sweet! I get to sleep more!'

It almost seemed like a "get out of jail free" card.

But sadly, the doctor saying you need more sleep doesn't count as an excuse to not do your homework.

It just means you have to manage your time more wisely.

Ghetto. 

Rachmaninoff

This piece was done for my friend, Jon. It was inspired by Rachmaninoff's 2nd piano concerto, 1st movement. 

Lucy Monet

Sometimes I draw this girl named Lucy Monet.

And by "sometimes" I mean ALL the time.

She's kind of my fall back character.

I just kinda love her.

I just barely discovered the musical Parade 

It's AMAZING, and it's practically all I've been listening to lately (with a little Kung Fu Panda in there...).

This is a sketch I did of one of the main characters, Lucille Frank.

I kinda like the style.

She's different from the girls I usually draw.

Nursing 102

This course was probably my favorite.

I liked the colors, I liked this style.

I liked learning about different parts of the body... kind of.

Turns out I think the brain is really gross looking. 

And also, it is a little hard to illustrate the reproductive system and urinary system while trying to maintain a G rated standard. But I think I did okay. See if you can guess which lessons are which!
